Will we lose our Google rankings?
Not if every old URL redirects properly. That is why we set up a redirect for every page and check them before launch.
Do customers and past orders come along?
Yes. Products, variants, customer accounts and orders all move. Shopify cannot import passwords for security reasons, so customers get an invite to reactivate their account.
Does the old store have to go offline?
No. The old store keeps running until the new one has been checked. Then we switch over.
How long does a migration take?
It depends on the number of products and languages. After the intro call you get a schedule with a fixed launch date.
